Wiply Community Standards

Wiply is a social network for people who live, play and create in virtual worlds: residents of metaverses such as Second Life, gamers of every kind, and everyone who loves to create, imagine and build. You are at the center of Wiply, and artificial intelligence is the engine that keeps it running, safe and fair.


Our Community Standards are strict about one thing: protecting your privacy and your safety. They are not a tool to silence people. Imagination, creativity and the will to build something are always welcome here.


One principle guides everything: your freedom ends where someone else's begins. Respect for every member is what keeps everyone's freedom safe.


1. What we protect

  1. Privacy. Do not share other people's personal information without their consent: real names, addresses, phone numbers, private messages, photos or any detail that links an avatar, a gamer tag or an in-world identity to a real person. This includes "doxxing" and revealing someone's real-life identity.
  2. Safety. No threats, harassment, stalking, intimidation or encouragement of self-harm.
  3. Dignity. No hate speech or attacks against people based on origin, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or appearance.
  4. Consent. No intimate or sexual images of anyone without their consent, and no content that exploits real people, including AI-generated images of real people in sexual or degrading situations.
  5. Honesty. No scams, phishing, spam, fake giveaways, impersonation of other members, brands or Wiply staff.
  6. Creators' work. Share what you made or have the right to share: screenshots, builds, mods, avatars, machinima, streams. Credit other creators, and respect copyright, trademarks and the rules of the worlds and games you share from.


2. Adult and sensitive content

Many virtual worlds and games are made for adults, and so is Wiply. Adult content is allowed within the law, but it must not surprise anyone:

  1. Mark your post as Adult when it contains nudity, sexual themes or strong content.
  2. Our AI checks images automatically. If it finds sensitive content, the image is blurred and the post is labeled as Adult. It is not deleted.
  3. Adult content is shown only to members aged 18 or over who have chosen to see it.
  4. Every member decides what they want to see.

Content involving minors in any sexual or suggestive way, including avatars that look like children, is never allowed.


3. How moderation works on Wiply

We do not ban people or delete posts just because we don't like them. Our approach is based on dialogue:

  1. Automatic protection. Our AI systems blur sensitive images, label adult posts and slow down spam. These are protective measures, not punishments.
  2. We talk to you first. If a post raises concerns, or someone reports it, a member of our team contacts you, explains the issue and listens to your side.
  3. Private, not erased. If the disagreement cannot be solved and the post causes problems for others, it is set to private: it stays in your account, visible only to you. We do not delete it.
  4. Accounts. Suspending or closing an account is a last resort, reserved for serious or repeated violations such as threats, harassment, scams, spam or sharing other people's private data.

Illegal content is always removed, as the law requires. This includes child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate images, terrorist content, clear copyright infringement notified by the rights holder, and any other content that is illegal in the European Union. Where required, we report it to the competent authorities.


4. Reporting a problem

  1. Use the Report button on any post, comment, message or profile.
  2. You can also write to help@wiply.net or open a ticket on help.wiply.net.
  3. To report content you believe is illegal, tell us where it is (link), why you think it is illegal, and, if you wish, your name and email address. We confirm that we received your report and let you know what we decided.


5. If we act on your content

Whenever we set a post to private, limit a feature or suspend an account, we tell you what we did, why, which rule it concerns, and whether the decision was taken or assisted by automated systems. Automated systems only blur, label and slow down content: decisions to set a post to private or to suspend an account are always taken by a person.

You can ask us to review any decision within 6 months by replying to our message or writing to help@wiply.net. A different member of our team will look at it again. If you still disagree, you can turn to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body or to the courts.


6. AI on Wiply

  1. Content created with AI tools, including Cassy, our AI assistant, is welcome. When you publish AI-generated images, audio or video that look real, say that they were made with AI.
  2. Do not use AI to imitate real people, create fake news or deceive others.
  3. AI makes mistakes. Check important information before sharing it.


7. Help us keep Wiply a good place

Disagree with ideas, not with people. Remember that behind every avatar and every gamer tag there is a real person. Assume good intentions. If something bothers you, you can mute, hide or block, and you can always talk to us. Wiply is what we build together.
